The interior of the after-school care centre is conceived as a part of the rich surroundings occupied by mature trees. In order to dissolve the visual boundaries between inside and outside as much as possible, the after-school care centre is round and glazed on all sides. The corridors are on the building’s periphery and the height of the viewing point has been shifted from the normal ground view to one that is lower (making the relationship to the outside stronger). Curiously, the same vantage point on the upper floor creates the feeling of floating above the environment, rather than looking down on it.
