A four-storey 18th century farmhouse extended off a stable with a gabled roof in the other direction. The house is beautiful. It is a local farmhouse and the twists and bends of the timber express its age. Unfortunately all existing ceiling heights are around 1.65m making it impossible to stand upright in the house. We intend to conceal the existing outside wall and roof with veneer panels and use the house itself as the inner shell for a concrete formwork. Once the concrete is poured and set we will remove the existing house piece by piece to end up with one large atelier space in the form of a church with a nave and transept. To the South we will build a very small apartment in timber. The remaining space will be a living room.
